Roosevelt Lake Ride Recap

GO AZ Motorcycles Scottsdale

It’s been over a year since I’ve held a rider’s meeting and it felt extra good welcoming everyone and saying, “We’re Back!

Today’s ride left from GO AZ Motorcycles in Scottsdale where it was great to see everyone!  At the end of our rider’s meeting, a bid adieu to Madison Fox who was the event coordinator for GO AZ.  This was the last of our events that she worked with us as she is leaving to stay home with her newly born baby girl!  For the last few years, we’ve worked with Madison to help with events at GO AZ and with the start of our rides while sitting on our Board of Directors representing our ride sponsor GO AZ.

Madison, you will be missed!

Road Captain/Count Di Money Steve Stoops led the group out for the first time since February 2020’s Leap Year Day Ride.  I followed as sweep with El Chino Loco (Rodney) with son Robert, sweeping me in his Toyota Sequoia.

Today’s ride went smoothly outside of an incident on the Loop 202.  As of this writing, rider was doing OK.  It was unseasonably hot but comfortable in the Roosevelt Lake area.  It’s been a while since I’ve ridden up US 60 and forgot how beautiful the scenery is as you start the climb up in between Superior and Miami.  Oh, and the road gets fun there too, even on the low and long Harley!

After some conversation and photo taking up near the Roosevelt Dam, we all went our separate ways either up north further or on home to the Phoenix Valley.  Todd, Les and I stayed up around the lake and had an excellent lunch at the Butcher Hook in Tonto Basin.

It was great to see everyone and hope to see you all on the Mt Lemmon Ride!
