Our 7th Annual GO AZ Motorcycles Sedona Ride saw 39 riders leave the GO AZ Peoria dealership at around 8:30 AM in 4 groups of roughly ten. The weather for the most part cooperated with us save for a few sprinkles on the way home. Heat and humidity were the worst parts of the weather we had to deal with, but only on the way home.
The temperatures were comfortable as soon as we were north of Wickenburg and again got a bit hot, but bearable in Sedona itself. Our original lunch stop at the Mesa Grill in the Sedona Airport was closed for a wedding, so we diverted to Pisa Lisa just south of the airport on 89A. We are sad to report a rider went down in the White Spars, details are sketchy at this point, rider was OK and got a tow home. This is the first crash we’ve had on one of our rides in several years. Kudos to Rodney, AK, DJ, Melinda and Brian for staying with the rider until he had a solid plan together to get home. These guys stayed in Prescott for lunch and then headed home. After lunch the rest of us took off for home on different routes from Sedona while some of us continued on further north and made a weekend of it. Next ride: 6’s Wild!
