The last ride of 2022 started with a brisk morning ride to the start point at GO AZ Motorcycles in Peoria. After a brief rider’s meeting, we all set out for Ajo, a charming little town just north of the Mexican border along Arizona State Route 85 featuring a traditional town square where the restaurant that hosted us for lunch was located.

Ten, Nine, eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One — a great flash of light, a mushroom shaped cloud rising into the desert sky, a moment that changed the course of civilization. The first nuclear bomb was ignited. Fast forward to October 15, 2022 and you are waiting at the Stallion Gate of the White Sands Missile Test Range waiting to goto the exact place where the the bomb was first set off.
