Flo’s Asian Cuisine, Tempe, AZ

So, this one didn’t turn out like expected. It started at about 2:00 PM that I called our original location for our monthly Dinner Meeting, the Watershed in Tempe to make a reservation for us. The answering machine said, “If you’d like to make a reservation, please let us know how many, what time, your name and phone number and we’ll call you back.” I followed the instructions and never received a call back. As my day progressed, I got busy with work and was unable to call back to confirm.
As we started to arrive at the Watershed, it turned out that they had a full house. They are a Green Bay Packers bar and they were playing their biggest division rival, the Chicago Bears so there wasn’t a seat to be found. John Hilty and his wife Dorothy then set off to secure a table at Flo’s just a short drive away. Kudos, to Road Captain, Steve Stoops for staying behind sending people to Flo’s from the Watershed until 6:45. Finally, we all sat down to a nice Chinese meal with great company!
It’s very easy to get caught up in the mechanics and details of an event. In the end, it’s all about sitting down with friends, making new ones, catching up and making plans for future rides and get-togethers. It really doesn’t matter whether the place is five-star or if the food is really all the good. It’s all about who your with! We are all lucky to have such a great group of people to be with every last Thursday of the month, every 2nd Sunday and at rides every other month!
