September Club Breakfast Recap

Tortilla Flat, AZ

The trip to breakfast started early for me as I felt like I was riding to New Mexico from my West Valley home in Buckeye. The good news was that it was a nice and clear morning with fairly moderate temperatures. Favorable conditions for my 80 mile jaunt to Tortilla Flat!

It had been quite a while since I last made the trip. In the earlier days of the club, we did an annual trip up there on New Year’s Day. Unpredictable weather eventually put a damper on that tradition. In more recent years, we’ve scheduled mid-summer breakfast meetups there, but it’s been a while.

The relaxed trip over was pleasant with no road closures and only a few cars on the Apache Trail. A few fellow AZRATPackers bunched up behind the cars with me. We arrived a little bit before 8:AM while some of us were already there and other straggled in a little later. Once the restaurant opened we all sat down and enjoyed a great breakfast and conversation. The restaurant easily accommodated our group of roughly 16.

It was great to see all the familiar faces along with new ones including a former Hollywood Stuntman/Racer that definitely had some interesting stories!

Until next time and enjoy the photos below!
